About Us

Sean Forde

Founder

Meet Sean, who has more 15 years’ industry experience both working in and alongside SMEs in challenging though enjoyable roles.
In his last full-time position, prior to launching his own business, he was a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the Building and Construction Industry and has certainly had some memorable experiences.

He is highly qualified in his chosen field with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) along with his Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).

Originally from the UK (he’s a Geordie), he has been here for over 25 years, and still has the lovable accent. He loves the Aussie lifestyle and certainly doesn't miss the cold.

Aside from crunching numbers, Sean enjoys the Aussie outdoors, and spends many weekends camping. He's also a big fan of music, especially from the 60's, 70's and 80's, and the English Premier League (EPL).

When my Accounts person (long term employee) resigned from our company, we were facing the busiest time without someone to take care of the year end processes. Sean stepped in to assist us, initially for a short period, to get us through year-end and relieve the pressures!

Why not just employ my own in-house Bookkeeper?

I am concerned that explaining everything to you will be time-consuming due to the complexity of my accounts.

I'm concerned I won’t know what is going on with my accounts and I will lose control of my business.

If I engage Gibside will I still need a Tax Accountant?

Engaging us as your bookkeeper does not eliminate the need for a Tax Accountant. We have an arms length working relationship with an independent Tax Accountant, or you can continue to use your existing Accountant.


Can I afford to have you as my external Bookkeeper?

The cost of an external bookkeeper depends on factors such as the complexity of your accounts, the volume of transactions, and the level of services required. We can provide you with pricing information and work with you to find a solution that aligns with your budget.


If I have a question or a concern, will I be able to reach someone?

Yes. You will always have direct access to us.


How will you access my Accounting software?

We use and recommend the 2 most popular cloud-based solutions, Xero and MYOB. Once we are engaged you simply email us an invite to access your file. If you are not currently using either of these we can help you migrate to make your life easier.


I am a new business, is it worth contacting you?

Most certainly as we can assist you with the choice of your Accounting Software, a tailor-made chart of Accounts and if you have employees, we can assist with the payroll set up and Single Touch Payroll (STP). We want to remove these stresses so you can focus on your business knowing that the numbers side is in safe hands.
